why the heck I decided to become a Wedding Officiant

It all makes sense now; why I couldn't get enough of all those childhood fairytales, romantic vampire series, rom coms, and my adulthood guilty pleasure - cheesy romantic reality TV shows. Ugh, I know!
As I reflect on the course of my life, I see now that these were contributing factors to why I decided to become a Wedding Officiant. I said, contributing, ok?
I'm a hopeful romantic, but I've done some deep work in my mid-20s, and as I've matured in my walk of faith, I truly began to understand that we were all put on this earth for a reason. The experiences and pain that we grow through inevitably are what equips us with the answers to someone else's problems. How sweet is that?

For most of my life, I grew up in a loving household with both parents. But it didn't start that way. Lucky for my mom and me, my "step" dad swept in and vowed to love our packaged deal back in July '99. I was 5-years-old at the time, it was the first wedding I had ever been to, and I loved every second.
I didn't know then what I know now. It wasn't just a wedding day; it was the beginning of the rest of our lives. It was the day God delivered on His promise to give my mom and me a family.
A wedding day doesn't only involve two partners who are madly in love. That's important - but there's so much more beauty involved. On your wedding day, you are (in most cases) surrounded by the people that you love most and who love and support you, especially in your decision to enter into a marriage.
I believe that a marriage is built on love, but it requires intentionality like many other things in life. Marriage is a huge commitment! The biggest one you'll ever make. Many people don't realize its impact goes far before them, after that special day. Without even knowing it, you are setting positive examples for your family, friends, your children and their children's children. I like to see it as a form of generational wealth - but you have to be all in!
I love hearing about two souls finding each other in this big-ass world, and after having explored each other's hearts and minds, they decide that they are going to commit to the adventures of life together, no matter what comes their way.
If love makes the world go-'round, then I want in on it! So, this is me doing my part, championing marriage and rooting for your love story!
love x blessings,
